Summer turns to fall, and our clients continue to show no signs of stopping. In gaming news, we advised London-based Bossa Studios on its $10 Million Series A fundraise ahead of the launch of its upcoming simulation game Worlds Adrift. Atomico led the investment with participation from existing investor, London Venture Partners. Atomico co-founder and partner Mattias Ljungman and executive-in-residence Alexis Bonte, will both join Bossa’s board of directors.
In an ongoing validation of the strength of UK and European tech, Bossa will be making use of Improbable’s ground-breaking SpatialOS platform in the creation of Worlds Adrift. The Cambridge-born tech firm has raised $502 million from SoftBank (and others) to become the underlying platform for large online game worlds.
“We are thrilled to see the continued build out of the gaming market in the UK and Europe,” said Howard Watt, Partner, JAG Shaw Baker. “This round represents a significant line in the sand for the sustainability of gaming,”
The JAG Shaw Baker team was led by Watt and Charlotte Courtney, Associate.
“Howard (assisted by Charlotte) was ‘partner’ in the real sense of the word, providing us with concise advice and insight at every step of the process,” said Henrique Olifiers, CEO, Bossa Studios. Together, their candid, straight-to-the-point approach helped us move forward swiftly, precisely what we needed for a successful and diligent outcome within a short time frame. JAG Shaw Baker was a pleasure to work with.”
