Imran specialises in venture capital at JAG Shaw Baker and acts on a range of corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and takeovers, as well as advising on corporate governance and legal and regulatory compliance matters.
Imran joins the firm from Herbert Smith Freehills in London, where he trained and qualified as a solicitor in 2013. Amongst other transactions, he worked on Sky’s acquisition of Sky Italia and the takeover of Sky Deutschland. Imran also spent six months on secondment with Sky, where he drafted and negotiated content licence and channel distribution agreements with a number of studios, producers and TV channels based around the world. Other corporate clients include a range of UK and international companies, both publicly listed and privately owned, particularly operating in the technology, media and pharmaceutical sectors. He also regularly offers his time and legal expertise on various pro bono, free legal advice and corporate social responsibility programmes.
Imran has a Bachelor of Law Degree from University College London and a Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Insurance.
