Nick Crabtree, Partner, Corporate, M&A

Today, we’re delighted to announce the elevation of Nick Crabtree to partner in our Corporate team. Nick is an influential member of the team at JAG Shaw Baker and since he joined the firm in early 2015, it’s remarkable to see how he’s helped the team deliver and close more than 200 transactions in that time.

Nick has also been lead attorney on many key client mandates and has helped dozens of clients through successful M&A and investment transactions in the retail and technology markets – notably the sale of Fits.me to Rakuten and the sale of Wool and the Gang to BlueGem.

Nick has more than a decade of legal expertise across a wide range of corporate transactions but his real sweet spot is selling venture-backed tech companies.

As partner, Nick will expand the firm’s M&A practice as well as continue to advise private equity and venture capital investors and founders on the best strategies for investment and M&A transactions.

“Nick has continued to impress us with his technical knowledge and ability to execute and project manage transactions. Clients love his down-to-earth approach and all members of the team turn to Nick for advice. He makes an excellent partner,” commented James Shaw, Co-founder, JAG Shaw Baker. “As we continue to excel, innovate and grow (just like our clients), Nick will be a key member of the firm’s growth strategy. We have a truly excellent client base and they are all looking for an exit!”

“In my role as associate and now partner, I continue to have the ability to focus on what’s most important to our clients and then achieve it for them,” said Crabtree.  “I like people and everyday I get to work with really talented innovative and exciting people, both inside and outside the firm.”

In addition to Nick’s passion for the law, he also has a rather foodie side to him. Prior to joining the firm, Nick ran his own wine consultancy business where he advised clients on how to build (and drink) wine portfolios.
