Jim is a consultant in the private client and tax team.

Jim's practice focuses on complex tax, estate planning, intellectual property and business law. Jim is a certified public accountant (CPA) and is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate law. Jim is also a registered patent attorney with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Jim worked at Bank of America for five years as a participant in the bank's prestigious Technology MBA Leadership Development Rotational Program. During his five years at the bank, Jim led a team of over 150 bank employees to implement various technology and organizational improvements. Before his role at Bank of America, Jim worked as a software consultant for five years at a small oil and gas consulting firm in Houston, Texas, where he designed and programmed gas plant accounting software.
 
In addition to his law degree from the South Texas College of Law, Jim holds an MBA in corporate finance and strategy from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Additionally, Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas.

Outside of work, Jim is a legal advisor for the Legacy Foundation at the Ark Church in Conroe, Texas. Additionally, Jim is the President and founding Board Member on the MISD Education Foundation and Vice Chair of the Corporate Tax Section of the State Bar of Texas. Jim lives with his wife Jennifer and their three children in the April Sound Subdivision on Lake Conroe and is an avid golfer.
